Accounting Associate

Location: Martin Library – Administrative Offices

Under direct supervision of VP Finance & Advancement, this position will perform a wide variety of accounting duties including posting to general ledger and recording data to ensure financial records are accurate and complete. Supports the mission and vision of York County Libraries. Ensures accountability to meet commitments.

Bilingual Program Aide

Location: Smith School

Candidate must enjoy being a team player and providing excellent care and service to a diverse population.  This position requires someone who has strong communication skills and is attentive to the needs of the students, families, and the program itself.  It is important that the candidate be dependable and maintains a positive attitude.

Early Childhood Aide – Infant Room

Location: Smith School

The Early Childhood Aide will be responsible for the day-to-day functions of the Program in the Infant Room.

InterLibrary Loan Assistant

Location: Martin Library

The InterLibrary Loan Assistant provides support in the day-to-day functions of the InterLibrary Loan department. They will assist in the day-to-day functions of the department, support InterLibrary Loan operations for libraries in the district, prepare materials for shipping, and assist community members with InterLibrary Loan questions.

Literacy Interventionist

Location: York City School District

 1 open position at 15 hours/week, 5 hours/day

The Literacy Interventionist works with k- 3 grade students in small groups or one-on-one to improve their reading, writing and math skills. The goal is to help those struggling below their grade level to increase their literacy to grade level or above.

Maintenance Assistant

Location: Martin Library

Under direct supervision of the Facilities Manager, the Maintenance Assistant performs a wide variety of duties including, but not limited to, keeping the building in a clean and orderly condition. Candidate will perform cleaning duties such as cleaning floors, bathrooms, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removal of trash. Other duties include monitoring HVAC equipment, performing routine maintenance activities, notifying management of need for repairs, and cleaning snow or debris from the sidewalk.

Math Interventionist

Location: York City School District

 3 open positions at 25 hours/week, 5 hours/day

The Interventionist works with 5th-8th grade students in small groups or one-on-one to improve their math skills. The goal is to help those struggling below their grade level to increase their math competency to grade level or above.

Member Services Librarian

Location: Martin Library

The Adult and Member Services Librarian assists the Library Director in supporting the mission of York County Libraries. The Adult and Member Services Librarian oversees the day-to-day functions of the Member Service department including supervision of staff and volunteers.

Member Services Library Assistant

Location: Martin Library

The Member Services Library Assistant will provide assistance to a diverse population of customers in using library resources. Support is given to users of public access computers.  Assistance is given to customers in person, via phone, and via email. These resources include, but are not limited to: printed materials, digital media, online databases, internet searches, faxing, copying, and printing. The Member Services Library Assistant will also assist in the day-to-day functions of the Member Services department – checking in/out materials, shelving books, opening/closing duties, creating/updating patron records, etc.

Tech Specialist

Location: Martin Library – Member Services

The Tech Specialist will provide assistance to a diverse population of customers in using library resources. Support is given to users of public access computers. Under the supervision of the Manager of Teen Services, the Teen Library Assistant will provide assistance to a diverse population of members in using library resources. The Teen Library Assistant will primarily be involved in the day-to-day functions of greeting members, checking in/out materials, shelving books, opening/closing duties, creating customer records, etc.

Teen Library Assistant (25 hours)

Location: Martin Library – Teen Services

Under the supervision of the Manager of Teen Services, the Teen Library Assistant will provide assistance to a diverse population of members in using library resources. The Teen Library Assistant will primarily be involved in the day-to-day functions of greeting members, checking in/out materials, shelving books, opening/closing duties, creating customer records, etc.

Teen Services Program Coordinator

Location: Kreutz Creek Library

The Teen Services Program Coordinator is responsible for attracting, retaining, and involving Teen members at the library and in library event planning. The Teen Services Program Coordinator will be responsible for building a positive ongoing relationship between local teens and the library. The Teen Services Program Coordinator will plan and present or facilitate age-appropriate programs and events. The Teen Services Program Coordinator will coordinate with the Library Manager to develop and maintain the Teen collection and to participate actively in YCL county-wide Teen events, programs, and outreach.

Video Production & Marketing Internship – Summer 2022

Location: Martin Library – Marketing Department

This will be a 120-hour internship that will be project-based with varying hours depending on recording needs & editing and approval process time. You’ll work in a hybrid (on-site and remote) work environment that will see you visiting multiple locations throughout your internship. We highly encourage all work to be done remotely (including visits to library locations), if possible. Interns will only be coming to Martin Library to meet with their supervisor and exchange equipment. All equipment should be kept in good working order. Interns will receive a $300 stipend over the course of the internship.
